  • Power Mac G3 Blue & White or above with an available 64-bit or 32-bit PCI slot (64-bit slot and OS 10.2.4 or higher required for full FireWire 800 1394b speed)
  • Mac OS 8.6-9.x, Mac OS 10.1.x-10.2.3: Up to 400 Mbps 
  • Mac OS 10.2.4 or above: Up to 800 Mbps 
    
    Note: When installed in a 32-bit PCI slot, a portion of the edge connector will not be connected to the PCI slot
