The low cost solution for extending the distance between
FireWire devices. Using CAT-5e or CAT-6 type crossover cables,
you can connect at distances up to 70 meters at transfer speeds of up to 400 Mbps!
The Unibrain CAT5 Repeater-400 design includes the new Texas Instruments TSB41BA3B 1394b PHY and EqCologic's 1394b to UTP cabling equalizer.
Circuitry is optimized to create long-haul IEEE 1394b-2002 connections over CAT-5 or CAT-6
cabling at the full S400 data rate and also supports S200 and S100 speeds.
