This card supports "direct connect" drive enclosures like the 4-Bay Hot-Swap SATA RAID Case Kit and the Fusion 400 eSATA 4 Bay SATA II Hot Swap Drive Enclosure allowing you to use 4 individual drives or configure as RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 1+0, RAID 1+S, RAID 5!  Plus, it also compatible with Port Multiplier enclosures like the 5 Bay Trayless SATA Port Multiplier Enclosure and the Sonnet Fusion 500P, eSATA Port Multiplier Enclosure allowing you to connect up to five drives in one enclosure through a single cable. Using 2TB drives, you can connect an astounding 40 Terabytes (40,000 Gigabytes!) of storage!
